God’s plan for your life is dependent on your willingness to respond to his call.
These 10 keys will help your spirit stay open to what He wants for your life and the ministry He has planned to flow through you.
KEEPING YOUR HEART OPEN TO GOD IS:
-
A matter of FOCUS (Col. 3:2) “Set your minds on things that are above, not on things on the earth.”
-
A matter of PRIORITY (Matt. 6:33) “Seek FIRST the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.”
-
A matter of CONSISTENCY (Matt. 24:13) “He that endures to the end shall be saved.” (Endurance is built over time) (Consistency in the Word and in prayer will build endurance)
-
A matter of COMMUNITY (Rom. 1:12) “That we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.” (Faith is built best and most in community with others)
-
A matter of TESTIMONY (Rev. 12:11) “They overcame by the blood of the lamb, and by the Word of their testimony.” (As we share our faith our faith is strengthened)
-
A matter of LOVE (1 John 3:16) “By this we know love, that He laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for others.” (Living in His love and sharing His love with others is the best way to keep your heart open)
-
A matter of GRACE (Eph. 2:8) “For by grace are you saved through faith; and not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.” (We must learn to walk in His grace. It is His grace that empowers us to live His life and overcome our faults, weaknesses, and failures.)
-
A matter of REPENTANCE (1 John 1:9) “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (If we continue with a heart of repentance we will stay in His peace. An open heart is a heart that is fully turned toward God in repentance.)
-
A matter of PASSION (Ps. 42:1) “As the deer panteth after the water brook, so my soul panteth after you oh God.” (As we continue our passionate pursuit of God we are daily filled with His presence, strength, and peace. Our hunger and passion for Him, His presence, and His Word must increase daily)
-
A matter of the SPIRIT (Gal. 5:16) “Walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” (Learning to walk in the Spirit is a daily process of studying the Word, prayer, living in community, and serving others. The Spirit provides daily strength to overcome our flesh and the obstacles and temptations of life.)
