James 4:7-10 “So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he’ll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. Hit bottom and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious, really serious. Get down on your knees before the Master; it’s the only way you’ll get on your feet.”
The heat 🔥 is 🔥 on 🔥! It’s getting serious and it’s time for us to get serious, really serious! James is not playing and neither should we. I believe we could all agree that last year brought clarity to what in our lives qualify as essential. Relationships are at the top of that essential list. And our relationship with the Lord has to be in proper alignment for any other of our relationships to be fruitful. If you ever needed an instructional bullet list on how to be in alignment with the Lord, to LET God work His will in you, then look no further. James for the win again!
Yell NO to the devil
Say a quiet YES to God
Quit dabbling in sin
Purify your inner life
Quit playing the field
If we follow these instructions, we would probably never hit rock bottom and have to cry our eyes out. But if you do, (and we’ve all been here more than we’d like to admit), then add that bullet point to the above list.
“The only way to get on your feet, is to get on your knees.” PSH
Consecration: Yes and No
The power of free-will is the greatest power we, as humans, were ever granted. Think about this, God could have created us with no free-will, no ability to choose against Him. But He didn’t. How powerful, that He wants to be chosen so much that He gave us the freedom of choice. In our lives, what we say “yes” to and what we say “no” to, determines our success…and our failures. Today, ask the Holy Spirit to make you aware each time today that you are presented with a yes/no decision. And when He does, consecrate that yes/no to the Lord. Weigh it against the Word. Let’s GOOOO!!!!
